Deer season on Green Mountain has begun again! Angela and Keith have picked up their first baby deer of the 2015 deer season. The first this year is Dotty, a little doe. Dotty came to Angela because her mother was chased off by dogs and she was abandoned. The mother hadn't returned 11 hours later and the baby was crying. So, Keith was called and drove over 20 plus miles to pick the baby up. He looked around the area for the mother but no signs of her and as the baby was in distress, he brought her home. She took immediately to the bottle of goats milk, waiting for her and stopped crying! Dotty is doing very well. Annie was the second baby deer that was rescued. A day after Dotty was found, she was found on a mountain side and was heard by some people- she was crying for a whole day and night. A neighbor found her and brought her home and called Keith. Annie was in shock and dehydrated. Keith and Angela gave her IV fluids, wrapped her in a warm blanket and placed her with Dotty. She looked like she was going to recover but unfortunately she didn't make it. This is the reality of baby deer rescue.
